In October 2017, a woman died of natural causes while being treated at an Emory hospital.
The case is still under investigation.
Emory University has also hired a private investigator to investigate the death.
A spokesman for Emory said the university is cooperating with the probe.
Emory hired private investigators after a series of articles published by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in March 2018 revealed that a nurse at the hospital had admitted to being aware of inappropriate sexual conduct with patients.
The investigation into Emory has expanded from its initial probe of the nurse.
On Thursday, Emory suspended a professor who is the head of the Emory Human Resources Department.
In May, Empresa de Cesaris was charged with one count of misconduct in office.
In a statement, the university said she will not be allowed to teach in the fall.
The university also suspended a dean, who has also been charged with misconduct in his job.
